Armband - a must when exercising.

I had my jog this morning. And did you know that listening to music is a good way to keep you motivated to jog for longer minutes? Not only jogging, but in all workouts. Anyway, I will be blogging about that in a different post. Stay tuned for that!

I use my phone (Nokia 5310 XpressMusic) to listen to music, pretty much all the time. Having mentioned that, guess what? My phone jumped out of my pocket while I was jogging this morning! Now my phone has a tiny tiny dent & scratch on the top right part of its housing. As of the moment, I don't have a separate music player, but that would be so much better. I was thinking of getting an iPod Touch, hopefully within this year. I'm pretty sure they have various accessories. But for now, I'm satisfied. Except for when I'm working out. I should have put on the silicone case but I didn't. I realized that I seriously need an armband or something to keep my phone in place while I'm working out. Armband is a piece of cloth or accessory that is worn around the arm (that's how they got the name). Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is not a sports phone, but to be named one of many music phones, they should have thought of selling products like that. This simple accessory can very useful for people who are music lovers and are on the go all the time, particularly if you are leading a healthy & fit lifestyle (e.g. jogging, working out at the gym). I tried to search on Google to see if there were any available armbands for my phone and only found one of its kind - Sports Armband Case from MobileFun.co.uk for £7.97. If converted to Pesos, that would be around PHP500. Unfortunately, they don't ship here to Philippines.

I guess I'll be sticking to a silicone case. At least it helps a little when it's in my pocket while I'm jogging because it has a rubber feel to it. But it is not the same when you're listening to music and jogging or working out, with the feeling of your phone in your pocket compared to it being snuggly and fit on your arm. Not to mention that you have better access than with it in your pocket.

If you are thinking of hitting the gym or just working out at home, then an armband is definitely a must!

Archie #587-591 - Freshman Year

Archie Fans like me, here is another one of those series of Archie Comics - Archie: Freshman Year, Issues #587-591. Archie and the rest of the gang blast to the past, back to their High School days.

"The Summer Before": Travel back in time with this five-issue tale that takes Archie and his friends back to their very first year in high school. It all starts with this poignant prologue which finds the gang wondering just what that first year will be like, while reflecting fondly on the past as well. Along the way, the gang must deal with the pending departure of one of their closest friends, as well as their bickering parents. And while the kids count the days until they enter their new school home, someone else is joining Riverdale High, too: Principal Waldo Weatherbee!

The first full-length issue of the "Freshman Year" saga finds Archie and his friends just starting the fall semester. Having survived a summer that saw the departure of Jughead and bickering parents, the gang arrives at high school... to find elementary school Principal Mr. Weatherbee has now become the high school Principal! But it's not just about reunions at Riverdale High. Archie also makes a new friend in Pencilneck G., although he prefers his more laid-back buddy Jughead. He also makes some new enemies in Jared McGerk and his band of bullies! Along the way the other classic faculty members are introduced, as well as Pop Tate and his Choklit Shop!

"Freshman Year: Winter Term": The third full-length issue of the "Freshman Year" saga finds Archie reflecting on the term just past, pining over Veronica and lamenting how she went away during the holiday break. Hoping to stay close to Veronica, Archie joins the drama club - the perfect indoor activity during the frosty winter months. But being part of such a large club is hardly the way to gain exclusive quality time with Veronica. Will their reunion be everything Archie hopes, or will the eternal love triangle get off to a rollicking start with friction between Betty and Veronica instead? And will Moose ever be introduced to Midge? Other surprises in store for the gang this second term include some new faculty members as well as the departure of the expelled school bully, Jared McGerk.

The first year of high school has been an eventful one for Archie and his friends, and it's all leading towards a whirlwind finale! But the teens still have some time to go yet. In this latest installment, they are evaluated by their teachers who report their progress to their folks on "parent-teacher" night. How will they fare once their parents learn how they're doing? Meanwhile, in social life, love triangles abound, and so do pranks - some playful, some nasty. But none nastier than the bikers who have been bedeviling the town. All this, plus a surprise or two!

"Freshman Year: Spring Term": As the first year of high school winds down, the teens anticipate the summer break but not before having a "Spring Formal" to send off the school year. But a few uninvited guests have crashed the dance an unwelcome band of bikers who have an axe to grind with the school, especially a freshman named Archie! Who are they and what is their problem? Plus, the spy in Riverdale is finally revealed. Will Mr. Weatherbee prevail?

Surprising Top 12 on American Idol (Season 9).

The last four contestants were eliminated on American Idol before having the official top 12. The four contestants who were voted off were namely: Katelyn Epperly (Top Left), Todrick Hall (Bottom Left), Alex Lambert (Top Right), and Lilly Scott (Bottom Right).


America, what were you thinking? To be honest, I was surprised, or should I say, shocked with who were voted off. Is it because of their performance this week? Is it because of their style? Is it because of their personality? Sure, a person will get voted off every week and only one will be named American Idol of Season 9, no doubt. But I think people are still not voting wisely. I guess people have their own bets and I can't blame them for voting who they want. My bets on the last four to be voted off were Paige Miles and Katie Stevens for the females; Tim Urban and Todrick Hall for the males. I guess I had one prediction right.

Since Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert were some of my favorites on the show, I'll be brief about them. It's not that I don't like Katelyn Epperly and Todrick Hall. Katelyn Epperly may have been predicted to be eliminated, along with Todrick Hall, because both had only one good week to keep them to go that far, compared to other contestants. But I think all the contestants are great. They all have talents. And that's why they were included in the top 24. I just felt that the two contestants that I like deserved to be in the top 12.

Here's what I thought of Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert:

Lilly Scott? She was one of my favorites on the show! I can't believe she didn't make it to the Top 12! With a voice like hers. I just love her voice. It sounds unique. I actually thought Katie Stevens would go home instead with the judges not pleased with this week's performance of her singing Kelly Clarkson's "Break Away." Paige Miles had a wrong choice of song as told by the judges. But she safely backed it up with how the song means so much to her and almost brought her to tears, which made it hard for her to sing it. Safe catch there Paige! I don't know what the people voting saw. Maybe because they want to see more of Katie since she hasn't shown enough potential yet. Is it because of Lilly's song choice that Simon thinks is quirky and play-safe? Or maybe they didn't find Lilly's style of singing appealing to them?

How about Alex Lambert? I liked him too. I agree with the judges with his confidence being the problem. Aside from that, he has a good voice. Randy even mentioned that his voice was similar to that of James Morrison. That's what I thought too. Andrew Garcia and him were the last two standing before calling out the last name for the number 12th spot. They both are good singers. They should have have been the last two standing there. Adam even cried. I'll have to admit, from the very start of me hearing Tim Urban perform OneRepublic's "Apologize" on the show, I said to myself, "That was just wrong. I'm sure he messed up his chances." But I was wrong. He even reached the top 12! I don't know what it is about Tim, he's cute, yes, but I may have to agree with what Kara said on the first week, that people may only be voting him for his looks and not of his voice. I still stick to what she says 'til now. Lucky him to be called back to top 24. And Ellen going up on stage to hug him? Another one of his luck to pull him through the week.

Two of my fave contestants were voted off American Idol. I'm guessing that the people voted them off too early because they foresee star quality in them even if they didn't get to be in the top 12 or win American Idol. That's just a thumbs down for watching the show. People need to vote wisely. And that saying never ends. But to me, American Idol winner or not, they have already reached it. From the exposure they had on the show, their career of being singers has already begun. That's how live shows are.

We have known the Gonzales family since we were toddlers. They have been one of our family friends for years now. And just this morning, sad news was brought about that their house was burned down back in Abu Dhabi. They are left with nothing. Thank God that they all are fine. Material things are gone, but what matters most is that they are alive and still have each other. Please pray for them. They need our prayers to get through and stay strong.

Blog Reopened!

How I have missed blogging. The feeling of blogging about random thoughts that pop in my head. I have been inactive here for a year now. But from that year 'til present, I am active on Twitter. Twitter is also a form of blogging, but instead of writing 300-500 words per post about your whole day, you are limited to 140 characters max. per post. From there, I suddenly felt like blogging again. It just came to mind today. Or maybe it is because I have too much free time on me for months that I thought of doing something to pass time. With this, I have been trying to get this post up for hours because I was having problems trying to compose a new post because the page wouldn't let me (or maybe it's because of browser incompatibility?). And finally, I found the solution myself - the updated posting option on the settings was selected! All I needed to do was change the option to old posting. A simple problem that took me hours to solve. It's a good thing I like searching for solutions. In a year that I have been inactive, Blogger has definitely changed. And this was one of the many new features of Blogger that I have yet to figure out.

This it it. Yes, after one year. My first blog for the year 2010.
